Political Heat Rises Over Voter List Revision

The ongoing Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls has triggered a sharp political confrontation across the state. The ruling Congress party has formally raised serious concerns regarding the execution of this massive door-to-door verification drive. Senior party leaders accuse the election administration of mismanagement and structural flaws that could risk leaving out genuine voters.

The core of the dispute revolves around the mandate to cross-verify current voter records with the historical electoral data from 2002. Congress representatives point out that vast demographic shifts, changing family structures, and varying spelling records over twenty-four years are creating widespread anomalies. They argue that demanding strict ancestral mapping places an unfair burden on local citizens.

As official machinery faces logistical hurdles, local political cadres have stepped in to manage the field operations. Across multiple districts, ground-level workers from opposition and ruling parties are actively guiding Booth Level Officers through complex urban neighborhoods. Without this direct assistance from party agents, field officials are finding it difficult to trace addresses and match pre-printed enumeration forms.

The door-to-door collection phase will continue until July 24, after which the preliminary draft rolls are scheduled for publication on July 31. With a one-month window provided for public claims and objections, political parties are keeping a close watch on every step. The final, updated electoral roll is set to be officially released on October 1.
