Nara Lokesh Elevated to TDP National Working President

The Telugu Desam Party has officially entered a new era of leadership. In a strategic move to strengthen the party hierarchy, Nara Lokesh has been promoted to the position of National Working President. This decision was finalized during a high-level meeting led by the party’s National President and current Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu.

The elevation of Lokesh is seen as a reward for his extensive groundwork and the success of his state-wide padayatra. Party seniors believe his new role will bridge the gap between the veteran leadership and the younger generation of workers. His primary focus will now shift toward national-level party coordination and overseeing the implementation of various welfare programs across the state.

This reshuffle also includes the reappointment of Palla Srinivasa Rao as the State President. The party has restructured its Politburo and state committees to ensure fair representation for all communities. Specifically, a large portion of the new committee members hail from Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes, signaling a strong push for social inclusion.

Lokesh’s promotion comes at a time when the state government is accelerating development projects in the capital region. By taking on the Working President role, he is expected to manage the internal party machinery, allowing Chandrababu Naidu to focus entirely on administration and state governance.

Followers and party activists have welcomed the move with celebrations across the state. They view this as a necessary step to modernize the party’s outreach. Lokesh has already hinted at using digital tools and data-driven strategies to monitor party activities at the village level, ensuring that the TDP remains a dominant force in the upcoming years.

The transition marks a clear succession plan within the TDP. While Naidu continues to guide the party with his decades of experience, Lokesh will handle the day-to-day operations and organizational growth. This dual-leadership model aims to keep the party battle-ready for future electoral challenges while maintaining stability in the current government.

Observers note that this move solidifies Lokesh’s influence within the alliance framework. His ability to coordinate with coalition partners will be tested in this new capacity. For now, the focus remains on strengthening the grassroots network and fulfilling the promises made during the last election cycle.
