CM Revanth Reddy Meets Union Ministers in Delhi Over Key Telangana Projects

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy arrived in New Delhi for a vital three-day official visit to clear long-pending state infrastructure and financial issues with the Central government. The Chief Minister reached the national capital late Sunday night after attending a personal commitment in Mumbai.

Top state officials have lined up high-level meetings with key Union Cabinet Ministers during this visit. The Chief Minister intends to meet Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to seek immediate intervention on stalled development funds.

The primary agenda of the trip is the delay in releasing a crucial loan of 13,600 crore rupees by the Indian Railway Finance Corporation. This funding is essential for Telangana’s planned takeover of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-One from L&T. Although both parties signed the official agreements earlier, the central agency has not disbursed the funds.

The Chief Minister will also present detailed proposals for the execution of Hyderabad Metro Rail Phase-Two. The state government needs fast-track clearances and technical support from the Central ministry to begin expansion works. Unresolved issues regarding the proposed takeover of Phase-One lines are currently halting progress.

Another major item on the discussion table is a high-profile land dispute with the State Bank of India in Raidurg. The state government recently planned to auction a prime 5.09-acre land parcel, but the public sector bank challenged the move by claiming ownership. Revanth Reddy will discuss this matter with the Union Finance Minister to protect state interests.

Beyond infrastructure and land issues, the Chief Minister will raise agricultural concerns affecting local farmers. He plans to request the Centre to ensure that urea produced at the Ramagundam plant is allocated entirely to Telangana. Discussions regarding central support for state crop procurement are also highly likely during these sessions.

Apart from official administrative meetings, Revanth Reddy will visit the Congress party national headquarters to meet the senior political leadership. The discussions will center around the pending Telangana cabinet expansion and the appointment of new heads for various state-run corporations.

The state administration looks at this visit as a major step to resolve financial gridlocks that are slowing down urban transit projects. Clearances from this trip will determine how quickly the state can execute major public infrastructure upgrades in Hyderabad.
