YSRCP Unveils Stance on Delimitation and Women’s Reservation Bills

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) has officially declared its firm stance on key national legislative proposals. The regional party will extend its complete backing to both the crucial Women’s Reservation Bill and the proposed Delimitation Bill in Parliament.
This key decision was finalized during a high-level parliamentary party meeting chaired by YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Tadepalle. The party leadership gathered to chalk out its strategy ahead of the upcoming national legislative session.
Party representatives confirmed that their lawmakers in both houses of Parliament will vote in favor of these two major reform bills. The move aligns with the party’s foundational commitment to promoting gender representation and structural democratic development.
However, the political backing comes with specific concerns regarding state interests. The regional party has sought firm assurances from the national leadership to safeguard the representation of southern states during the boundary redrawing process.
The leadership has voiced concern that states excelling in development and population control should not face a reduction in parliamentary weightage. The party remains clear that while it supports systemic growth, the core interests of Andhra Pradesh must not be compromised.
The central leadership of the party highlighted its historic focus on welfare and empowerment policies. They pointed out that local governance models in Andhra Pradesh have consistently prioritized reservations and leadership roles for female leaders.
By supporting these bills, the political outfit seeks to balance progressive national reforms with regional advocacy. The upcoming parliamentary sessions will see how these legislative moves progress with the backing of key regional stakeholders.
