Over ₹10,120 Crore Sanctioned for “Thalliki Vandanam” Scheme

The Andhra Pradesh government has officially sanctioned ₹10,120.78 crore to implement the Thalliki Vandanam scheme for the 2026–27 academic year. Designed to promote education and reduce financial hurdles for families, this major funding clearance is set to directly benefit school and intermediate-level students across the state.

Under the guidelines issued by the School Education Department, the program provides an annual financial assistance of ₹15,000 to eligible mothers or guardians. Out of this total, ₹13,000 will be credited directly into the verified bank accounts of the beneficiaries, while ₹2,000 will be kept for school maintenance, sanitation, and improving educational infrastructure.

The scheme is highly inclusive, covering approximately 67.47 lakh students and 42.70 lakh mothers or guardians throughout Andhra Pradesh. It is applicable to students enrolled in recognized government, private, aided, and residential institutions from Class 1 to Class 12 (Intermediate).

According to the official schedule, the first list of eligible beneficiaries will be publicly displayed at village and ward secretariats on July 22, 2026. The direct benefit transfers to the verified accounts will commence on the same day, ensuring quick and transparent financial delivery.

For families with newly admitted students in Class 1, Class 9, or Junior Intermediate, the government has extended the registration and verification timeline. Eligible amounts for these fresh admissions will be credited by August 30, 2026, once their enrollment details are fully processed and verified.
