Kavitha Unveils New Political Force in Telangana

In a major development today, Telangana Jagruthi President K. Kavitha officially signaled the birth of a new regional political force. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad, the former BRS leader stated that the state requires a fresh voice to address “unfulfilled aspirations.” This move comes just 24 hours before a massive public meeting scheduled in Medchal, where the party’s name and flag are expected to be formally unveiled to the public.
Kavitha addressed her recent exit from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), clarifying that she and her supporters were “expelled” rather than leaving by choice. She expressed that the BRS had “lost its soul” after changing its name from TRS and drifting away from its core regional identity. By positioning her new outfit as a protector of Telangana’s grit and heritage, she aims to bridge the gap she believes has been left by both the BRS and the current Congress-led government.
The timing of this launch coincides with significant labor unrest in the state. Kavitha used the platform to lash out at the Revanth Reddy administration over the ongoing RTC strike. She criticized the government for failing to merge the Road Transport Corporation with the state department, a promise she claims has been ignored for over two years. She warned that the distress among employees has reached a breaking point, citing recent tragic incidents within the workforce.
Political analysts suggest that Kavitha’s new party will focus heavily on the “Telangana sentiment” that originally fueled the statehood movement. By distancing herself from her father’s party and the national parties, she is attempting to carve out an independent space. She has ruled out any immediate alliances with the BJP or Congress, describing them as entities that do not prioritize the local welfare of the people.
As the state prepares for the grand launch event tomorrow at Muneerabad, security has been tightened and cadre from various districts are reportedly arriving in the capital. This new political chapter is expected to shift the current power dynamics in Telangana, especially as the state nears upcoming local body and general electoral cycles.
