During a recent media interaction on Republic Day, the filmmaker provided clarity on his upcoming lineup, confirming that his project with the “Icon Star” remains a top priority. This ambitious venture, tentatively titled AA23, marks the first time these two powerhouses are coming together for a cinematic experience.
Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed that while he had the opportunity to direct a massive multi-starrer featuring legends Kamal Haasan and Rajinikanth, he chose to move forward with the Allu Arjun project instead. He explained that the legendary actors were looking for a light-hearted script, a genre he felt was outside his current creative expertise. This decision has cleared the path for AA23 to begin its production cycle, much to the delight of fans across the country.
The film is being produced on a grand scale by Mythri Movie Makers, the banner behind the global blockbuster Pushpa series. Adding more star power to the technical crew, “Rockstar” Anirudh Ravichander has been roped in to compose the music. The collaboration is described as an “eternal” cinematic spectacle, with early reports suggesting it will be a high-octane action drama that showcases Allu Arjun in a completely new light.
Currently, Allu Arjun is occupied with his ongoing science-fiction project directed by Atlee. Once those commitments are wrapped up, the focus will shift entirely to the Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial. Fans are also curious to see if this film will integrate into the famed Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). While the director remains tight-lipped about plot specifics, he confirmed that the shoot is scheduled to commence later this year.
