CM Revanth Reddy Meets Uber CEO for “Future City” Expansion

Telangana is making bold strides toward global technological prominence as Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy engaged in a high-level meeting with Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi. The discussion centered on the ambitious “Future City” project, a cornerstone of the state’s vision for next-generation urban development. During the dialogue in Hyderabad, the Chief Minister invited the ride-hailing giant to play a pivotal role in shaping the state’s upcoming economic hub.

The Chief Minister proposed that Uber establish a massive corporate campus within the Future City, located near the international airport. This move is designed to create a concentrated ecosystem of innovation and employment. The government is offering strategic support to ensure that global tech leaders find a conducive environment for growth. This partnership aims to bridge the gap between traditional infrastructure and modern mobility solutions.

A significant highlight of the meeting was the focus on sustainable transportation. The state government suggested a collaborative model for integrating Uber’s platform with the existing Metro rail network. This includes developing multi-level parking structures and dedicated electric vehicle charging hubs at major transit points. Such a move would significantly enhance the “last-mile connectivity” for millions of daily commuters in the capital region.

Uber has responded positively, announcing plans to significantly expand its existing Center of Excellence in Hyderabad. This expansion is expected to generate thousands of high-skilled jobs in data science, engineering, and customer operations. The CEO commended the state’s proactive approach to digital infrastructure, noting that Telangana remains one of the most attractive destinations for global technology investments in Asia.

The “Future City” project is envisioned as more than just a business district; it is designed to be a sustainable, AI-driven urban space. By bringing in companies like Uber, the administration hopes to implement smart traffic management and AI-based transit systems from the ground up. This initiative aligns with the government’s broader goal of making Telangana a leader in the global “fourth industrial revolution.”

Beyond corporate offices, the discussions touched upon social impact initiatives. There are plans to explore skill development programs for local youth to prepare them for the gig economy and high-tech sectors. The Chief Minister emphasized that the growth of the Future City must be inclusive, ensuring that the benefits of technological advancement reach all sections of society through improved services and economic opportunities.

As the framework for the Future City takes shape, this meeting marks a crucial milestone in attracting foreign direct investment. The partnership between the state and global giants is set to redefine the urban landscape of Telangana. Residents and investors alike are watching closely as these plans transition from high-level meetings to ground-level execution, promising a smarter and more connected future.
