CM Revanth Reddy Meets PM Modi, Pitching a $1 Trillion State Economy

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy held a high-level meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to discuss several key growth projects for the state. During the meeting, the Chief Minister shared the “Telangana Rising” roadmap. The plan sets an ambitious goal to expand the state economy to 1 trillion dollars by the year 2034 through targeted industrial and urban growth.
The Chief Minister proposed the creation of a special “M-6 Task Force” under the leadership of the Prime Minister to develop six major economic hubs in India, including Hyderabad. He requested a dedicated national fund of 6 lakh crore rupees to upgrade infrastructure across these major urban centers. He also asked for central backing to set up an Indian Institute of Management in Hyderabad, offering 200 acres of land for the project.
Transit and connectivity projects were a major focus of the talks between the two leaders. Chief Minister Reddy requested fast-track approvals for the second phase of the Hyderabad Metro Rail, which is a joint venture covering over 122 kilometers. He also sought support for the Regional Ring Road and a new 12-lane expressway connecting Hyderabad to Amaravati to boost regional trade and manufacturing.
For industrial growth, Telangana requested project allocations under the India Semiconductor Mission 2.0 and a new electronics manufacturing cluster at the upcoming Future City. On irrigation, the Chief Minister asked the Prime Minister to help start high-level water talks with Maharashtra regarding the Tummidihatti Barrage. He emphasized that strong central support will help Telangana contribute heavily toward the national development goals for 2047.
