Uttam Kumar Reddy Directs Fast Farmer Payouts

The Telangana government has accelerated the release of financial aid to farmers under the state’s flagship investment support initiatives. Civil Supplies and Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy recently confirmed that over ₹2,001 crore has been credited directly into the bank accounts of nearly 1.84 lakh farmers. This funding primarily covers paddy procurement payments, ensuring that those who sold their crops at government centers receive their money without any middleman interference.
Minister Reddy emphasized that the administration is committed to making agriculture a profitable profession. To support this vision, the government has established over 8,500 purchase centers across the state. By implementing a transparent online tracking system, the government ensures that the Minimum Support Price (MSP) reaches the rightful owners instantly. This move aims to protect the farming community from local traders and price fluctuations.
In addition to procurement payments, the ongoing distribution of seasonal investment support continues in phases. The government recently released ₹2,200 crore as part of its broader commitment to assist 40 lakh farmers. Officials have been directed to prioritize small-scale farmers to ensure they have enough capital for the upcoming sowing season. Minister Reddy noted that the goal is to resolve all pending financial dues and loan waivers systematically.
The state is also focusing on long-term infrastructure to aid cultivators. Plans are underway to desilt local tanks and improve irrigation canals to ensure water reaches every acre. By combining direct cash transfers with better water management, the government hopes to see a significant rise in crop yields this year. Farmers are encouraged to keep their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts active to receive these benefits smoothly.
