Ponguleti Alleges BJP Vote Deletion Conspiracy

The political discourse in Telangana has intensified following a sharp public challenge by State Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy against the central government. Speaking to regional party workers and representatives during an official strategy meeting, the minister claimed that the ruling party at the Center is actively planning to manipulate local voter rolls. He warned that thousands of authentic electors could face systematic deletion from the official registries under the guise of ongoing administrative reviews.

According to the statements made at the gathering, the state administration is keeping a very close watch on the upcoming voter list revision process. The minister claimed that a strategic directive is being executed to identify areas with strong local opposition representation and selectively remove voters by citing minor technical discrepancies. He stated that these actions are intended to weaken the fair democratic process ahead of future electoral contests in the state.

Addressing the local cadre directly, the senior leader emphasized the urgent need for absolute vigilance at the ground level. He instructed all block and booth-level agents to double-check the voter enrollment status of citizens in their respective jurisdictions. The party workers were told to establish dedicated desks to assist residents whose names might be unexpectedly missing or wrongfully categorized as duplicate profiles during administrative checks.

The minister also made broader references to national political developments, arguing that regional autonomy and democratic institutions are being consistently pressured by central agencies. He alleged that when traditional political strategies fail to deliver local victories, alternative administrative maneuvers are deployed to alter the playing field. The state leadership has expressed its firm commitment to legally contesting any mass corrections that appear to target specific demographics.

Local opposition representatives have dismissed these allegations, claiming that the voter roll updates are part of a routine, independent exercise managed strictly by national election authorities to remove genuine duplicates. However, the ruling state government insists that the scale of the proposed removals warrants public scrutiny, promising to defend the franchise of every eligible citizen across the state.
