Jagan Demands CBI Probe Over AP Mega DSC

The political atmosphere in Andhra Pradesh has intensified significantly following serious allegations leveled by YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy regarding the conduct of the Mega DSC teacher recruitment process. The former Chief Minister has officially demanded an independent inquiry by the Central Bureau of Investigation, describing the entire recruitment drive as a major institutional failure.
Addressing the media and sharing detailed notes on social media platforms, the opposition leader claimed that the examination process lacked the basic standards of transparency required for public employment. He pointed out that structural safeguards meant to protect the confidentiality of the exam were systematically dismantled, creating a system highly vulnerable to errors and data manipulation.
A primary concern raised by the opposition involves the merging of administrative responsibilities. Traditionally, the preparation of examination papers and the overall management of the drive were separated between independent bodies to ensure total secrecy. According to the allegations, these critical duties were instead centralized under a single department head, which compromised the internal checks and balances of the system.
Further scrutiny was directed toward the digitization process and the involvement of temporary personnel. The YSRCP chief pointed to reports of data mismatches, delayed merit lists, and the strange case of a temporary worker associated with the system achieving a top rank. He noted that the state education department failed to put up the standard merit-cum-roster lists at local administrative offices, leaving thousands of young applicants in deep confusion.
The controversy has also extended to specialized recruitment categories, particularly the allocations made under the sports quota. The opposition alleges that several appointments were finalized under suspicious conditions without following the mandatory scrutiny protocols, further depriving genuinely eligible local youth of their rightful employment opportunities.
Given that the careers of lakhs of young job aspirants are at stake, the opposition maintains that internal state agencies cannot conduct a fair review as they report directly to the current administration. The demand for a central agency investigation is being pushed forward as the only viable mechanism to restore public confidence and verify the complete integrity of the state teacher recruitment process.
