PM Modi Announces Fast-Track Courts for Paper Leak Cases
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the establishment of dedicated fast-track courts across India to deal strictly with examination paper leak cases. The decision aims to accelerate legal proceedings and deliver swift, severe punishment to anyone involved in compromising competitive and recruitment examinations.
Addressing the nation’s growing concern over recurring exam malpractices, the Prime Minister emphasized that protecting the future and welfare of young citizens remains the government’s highest priority. He noted that compromising the hard work of millions of students is an unpardonable offense that demands decisive judicial action.
Under the new directive, relevant ministries and central departments have been instructed to coordinate with state governments and high courts to set up these special judicial bodies. The dedicated courts will prioritize paper leak trials, preventing long delays and ensuring cases are resolved within fixed timeframes.
This initiative builds upon the recently enacted anti-paper leak law, which introduced heavy financial penalties and multi-year prison sentences for individuals and organized syndicates caught rigging public examinations. By pairing strict legislative measures with dedicated fast-track courts, authorities intend to build a strong deterrent against exam mafias and corruption rings.
Student groups and educational experts have largely noted that speedy trials are vital to restoring faith in national entrance tests. Delayed justice in past instances often left thousands of deserving candidates in academic uncertainty for years while investigations dragged on through standard trial courts.
The setup of these specialized courts is expected to begin shortly, with legal frameworks being aligned across central and state jurisdictions. Government officials confirmed that administrative guidelines will be issued soon to operationalize the courts and fast-track ongoing investigations.
