Opposition Slams Congress Over Paddy Delay

The opposition parties in Telangana have launched a sharp attack on the ruling Congress government over severe delays in paddy procurement. Leaders from both the BRS and BJP accused the state administration of neglecting the farming community during a crucial harvest season.
According to opposition leaders, thousands of farmers are facing severe hardships at various procurement centers across the state. They alleged that a lack of proper planning, shortage of gunny bags, and delayed transport logistics have left agricultural produce stranded in the open markets.
Recent unseasonable weather and intense heatwaves have added to the worries of the farmers. The opposition claimed that vast quantities of harvested paddy have been exposed to the elements, causing heavy financial damage to cultivators who are waiting for days at local purchase centers.
Former ministers and senior political figures have demanded immediate intervention from the Chief Minister. They urged the government to speed up the buying process, ensure timely bank payments, and provide financial compensation to farmers who suffered crop losses due to administrative delays.
In response, government representatives stated that steps are being taken to streamline the procurement process. However, the opposition remains aggressive, promising state-wide protests if the structural bottlenecks at the purchasing centers are not resolved immediately.
