JSP MLA Arava Sridhar Resigns as Assembly Whip

Railway Koduru MLA Arava Sridhar has officially resigned from his position as the Andhra Pradesh Government Assembly Whip. The lawmaker submitted his formal resignation letter directly to Jana Sena Party president and Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan on Saturday.

The resignation follows a high-profile meeting at the party headquarters where Sridhar briefed the party chief about recent controversies surrounding his personal life. Reports state that a woman had raised serious allegations against the MLA, accusing him of deception under the pretext of marriage, which led to a police case.

While Sridhar has publicly maintained that his step-down is strictly due to personal reasons, sources indicate he chose to vacate the post on moral grounds. The Jana Sena Party leadership had previously constituted a three-member internal committee to investigate the matter impartially.

During his meeting with Pawan Kalyan, the Railway Koduru legislator reportedly provided his side of the story, claiming the allegations were part of a political conspiracy and financial extortion attempt. However, to keep the administration’s image clean, he was advised to step aside until investigations conclude.

The swift political move highlights the ruling alliance’s strict stance on public accountability and moral ethics. Party leadership has indicated that the law will take its own course, and internal discipline remains a priority for all elected representatives.
