Voter List Update Starts Across Telangana
A massive door-to-door verification drive began on June 25, 2026, across Telangana to clean up and refresh the state voter data. Known as the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), this major public exercise returns after nearly twenty-five years to correct address details, add new eligible voters, and remove duplicate or invalid names from the electoral rolls.
Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have already started visiting houses across all 15 Assembly constituencies to give out pre-printed voter verification documents. Officials confirm that this phase will run for a full month, concluding on July 24, 2026. Every household will receive two copies of an enumeration form: one original copy to fill out and return, and a duplicate copy to keep as an official acknowledgment of submission.
To ensure transparency and high accuracy, the Election Commission has deployed thousands of trained personnel and requested local political groups to station dedicated booth agents during the visits. If a house is found locked during the officer’s visit, teams will safely leave the verification forms at the doorstep. The official collection of these completed papers will start exactly one week after distribution. No identity cards or personal documents are being collected from citizens during this physical distribution phase.
Residents who prefer digital options can download pre-filled documents or upload their finished forms online. The official portal at www.voters.eci.in and the dedicated voter mobile application are open for tracking and electronic updates. Any adult family member is legally allowed to sign and verify the information for the whole household.
Following this door-to-door process, the official draft electoral rolls will be published for open review on July 31, 2026. Citizens can check, submit corrections, or raise formal objections regarding the names from July 31 until August 30, 2026. After addressing all feedback, the election authority plans to release the final, clean state voter list on October 1, 2026.
