Tirupati Laddu Row Deepens with New Allegations

The political climate in Andhra Pradesh has reached a boiling point over the ongoing Tirupati Laddu controversy. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has leveled serious new allegations against the previous YSRCP administration. During a public address in Kurnool, the Chief Minister claimed that the ghee used for the sacred “Srivari Laddu” was adulterated with industrial chemicals.
According to the latest statements from the state government, investigations suggest that substances typically used for cleaning bathrooms were mixed into the ghee supplies. The Chief Minister described this as a grave “sin” against the sanctity of the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). He emphasized that his government has initiated a complete cleansing process to restore the purity of the world-famous prasadam.
On the other side, YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has dismissed these claims as politically motivated. He pointed to the recent Special Investigation Team (SIT) findings, which he claims do not provide conclusive proof of animal fat in the ghee. The opposition leader accused the ruling alliance of using religious sentiments to divert public attention from administrative issues.
The controversy has now moved into a legal and administrative phase. The state cabinet has decided to form a one-man commission of enquiry to further investigate the procurement lapses. This committee will look into how tender rules were allegedly diluted between 2019 and 2024. Meanwhile, the YSRCP has approached the National Human Rights Commission, citing “Jungle Raj” and political vendettas.
As the war of words continues, the focus remains on the reports from various central laboratories. While some reports flag chemical adulteration, others are being debated for their specific findings on fat content. Devotees across the globe are closely watching these developments, hoping for a final resolution that protects the sanctity of the revered temple.
