The “Spill Their Blood” Controversy Intensifies

A massive political firestorm has escalated in Telangana following highly aggressive remarks made by Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy regarding the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project.
The political atmosphere turned tense as the Chief Minister launched a direct attack against the leaders of the opposition Bharat Rashtra Samithi.
While addressing the ongoing water management issues and project structural restoration work, the Chief Minister made a highly sharp statement against the opposition.
He suggested that the top leaders of the opposition party should jump into the water at the project site to rid the state of bad luck.
Further intensifying his tone, the Chief Minister added that if the opposition leaders were cut and their blood spilled on the fields, it would suffice for the crops.
He also directed strong warnings toward specific retired technical engineers, stating that individuals acting oversmart would face strict administrative action.
The ruling party maintained that the previous administration committed massive corruption and irregularities in executing the world’s largest multi-stage lift irrigation project.
According to government officials, international and national engineering experts are currently assessing the structural stability under the National Dam Safety Authority.
The Chief Minister stressed that the government is trying its best to restore the damaged pump houses and will act solely on technical reports.
However, the harsh choice of words used by the head of the state quickly drew severe condemnation from all major opposition parties.
Senior leaders from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi immediately held an urgent press conference to launch a strong counter-attack against the government.
Former Minister T. Harish Rao fiercely compared the language used by the Chief Minister to a criminal mindset, calling it completely unacceptable.
The opposition accused the current ruling Congress party of using extreme verbal attacks to hide its administrative failures in providing timely water.
They alleged that the government is deliberately trying to divert public attention away from the severe water shortage faced by local farmers.
The opposition working president expressed that the previous government worked untiringly for years to secure water resources for the farming community.
In an emotional response, the opposition leaders challenged the government to arrest them or take their lives instead of ignoring the agricultural sector.
They stated that they are fully prepared to offer their own blood for the welfare of the state if it forces the government to give water.
The political dispute has now brought irrigation management, project damage control, and political decorum to the center of public debate across the state.
Independent observers noted that the escalating verbal war reflects the deep political rivalry between the two major regional political forces.
As the engineering experts prepare to submit their final assessment report by August, the political battle over the project is expected to intensify further.
