Revanth Reddy Defends SIT Action Against KCR

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has broken his silence following the Special Investigation Team’s (SIT) intensive questioning of former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao. Speaking at a public event in Hyderabad on Monday, Reddy asserted that no one is above the law and that legal inquiries should not be viewed as personal attacks.

The Chief Minister questioned why the opposition is projecting the SIT notices as an insult to the people of Telangana. He stated that if a leader has committed errors, they must face the investigation like any other citizen. He cited historical examples of senior national leaders who have participated in legal inquiries without claiming political vendetta.

Reddy’s comments come just a day after SIT officials spent nearly five hours at KCR’s Nandi Nagar residence. The probe focuses on allegations of illegal phone tapping and surveillance of political rivals during the previous administration. Investigators reportedly presented technical evidence and witness statements during the session.

Meanwhile, BRS leaders have reacted sharply to the Chief Minister’s stance. They accuse the current government of practicing “vindictive politics” to hide its own administrative failures. BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao described the inquiry as a “planned script” designed to distract the public ahead of the upcoming municipal elections.

The Chief Minister, who recently returned from a leadership program at Harvard University, dismissed these claims. He emphasized that the law would take its own course based on facts and evidence. He urged the opposition to cooperate with the investigative agencies rather than staging protests to block the process.

As the political heat intensifies, security remains tight around key locations in the city. The ruling Congress maintains that the investigation is a necessary step to ensure transparency and accountability in governance. The public and political circles are now waiting to see the next move from the SIT as they process the statements recorded from the BRS chief.
