Revanth Orders Leaders to Field for SIR Drive
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has directed all party ministers, members of the legislative assembly, and members of parliament to shift their focus directly to their respective constituencies. The Chief Minister issued strict instructions asking leaders to remain present among the public until August 3 to actively monitor the ongoing voter list revision drive.
During a high-level review meeting held in Hyderabad, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy reviewed the progress of the Special Intensive Revision process across the state. He instructed senior leaders to avoid hanging around the party headquarters in Hyderabad or spending time lobbying for administrative positions. Instead, he asked them to dedicate their time entirely to constituency-level fieldwork.
The Election Commission has extended the deadline for the voter verification process to August 3. The Chief Minister pointed out that voter form submission rates in several urban sectors, particularly across Hyderabad, remain lower than expected. He urged local representatives to step up outreach efforts and ensure every eligible citizen is correctly enrolled.
To ensure effective implementation, party leaders have been instructed to coordinate closely with ground-level workers and local election officers. The state leadership warned that negligence in monitoring the electoral roll update would be viewed seriously. Leaders were advised to set up dedicated assistance desks in every village and municipal ward.
The Chief Minister stressed that a clean and updated voter list forms the foundation of strong democracy. He encouraged young voters and residents who recently shifted residences to utilize this extended period to submit their applications. Public awareness programs are also being organized across all districts to guide residents through the verification process.
Local leaders have already begun setting up field offices in their constituencies following these directives. Ministers and elected representatives are conducting door-to-door visits and public meetings to address grievances related to voter registration, voter card corrections, and address updates before the final deadline expires.
