Pawan Kalyan,”Legally Punishing Leaders for Broken Promises is Impossible”

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan shared his views during an interaction with the younger generation. He spoke about the challenges of holding leaders legally responsible for the promises they make during election campaigns. According to him, the current legal system does not provide a way to punish politicians for failing to fulfill their manifestos.
During the event in Mangalagiri, a student asked if there could be a law to hold leaders accountable. Pawan Kalyan explained that while it sounds ideal, creating such a law is nearly impossible in a democracy. He noted that many factors, including budget changes and unforeseen crises, can stop a government from finishing its planned work.
Instead of looking for legal punishments, he urged the youth to realize the power of their vote. He stated that the best way to handle leaders who do not keep their word is to reject them at the polling booth. According to the Deputy CM, public awareness is the only real check on political power.
He encouraged the “Gen Z” audience to study the history and character of leaders before choosing them. He believes that if voters hold high standards, political parties will naturally become more responsible. His message focused on shifting from legal expectations to active democratic participation.
Pawan Kalyan also mentioned that the state’s progress depends on long-term stability rather than short-term gains. He asked the youth to stay involved in the political process to ensure a better future for Andhra Pradesh. The session highlighted the need for a change in how the public views political accountability.
