KTR Grilled for 7 Hours in Phone Tapping Case

The political atmosphere in Telangana reached a boiling point today as BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) appeared before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for a marathon seven-hour questioning session. The inquiry is focused on the high-profile phone-tapping scandal that allegedly took place during the previous BRS regime.
Before entering the SIT office, KTR launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, calling the investigation a “scripted drama” designed to divert public attention from the Congress government’s failure to deliver on its election promises. He accused the CM of engaging in “character assassination” and claimed that the probe is being fueled by selective leaks to the media.
In a sharp rebuttal, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud dismissed KTR’s claims as “laughable,” stating that the investigation is based on concrete evidence. He emphasized that the Congress government is following due process and that the law is simply taking its course. Meanwhile, Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka is preparing for the state’s largest-ever budget, expected to cross ₹3.25 lakh crore.
The confrontation has intensified the rivalry between the ruling Congress and the opposition BRS. While the BRS leaders allege political vendetta, the government maintains that the privacy of citizens was violated under the previous leadership. As the SIT continues its probe, the political landscape in Hyderabad remains tense, with both sides bracing for further legal and verbal battles.
