KTR and Revanth Trade Barbs as Political Heat Rises

The political atmosphere in Telangana has reached a boiling point today, as BRS working president KT Rama Rao and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy engaged in a fierce war of words. The confrontation intensified following KTR’s sharp remarks regarding the Chief Minister’s governance, leading to a massive backlash from the ruling Congress party leaders who accused the BRS leader of lowering the dignity of public discourse.

Central to the dispute is a personal and political exchange where KTR defended his father, former CM K. Chandrashekar Rao, against Revanth Reddy’s vows to end the “KCR family rule.” KTR challenged the Chief Minister to focus on fulfilling electoral promises, such as the “one tola gold” scheme for poor women, rather than pursuing personal vendettas. Meanwhile, Congress leaders hit back, alleging that the BRS leadership is frustrated by their loss of power and is resorting to abusive language to stay relevant.

Adding to the day’s developments, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy left for New Delhi to attend a crucial Congress Working Committee meeting. Sources suggest he will discuss the long-pending announcement of nominated posts for party loyalists with the high command. The Chief Minister is also preparing for the upcoming winter session of the Assembly, scheduled to begin on December 29, where high-stakes debates on irrigation and state finances are expected.

On the organizational front, the BRS is planning a series of public meetings to highlight “betrayals” by the current government regarding water rights and farmer welfare. BRS chief KCR is likely to attend the Assembly sessions, setting the stage for a direct face-off between the two primary political forces in the state. As the year draws to a close, the battle for dominance in Telangana politics shows no signs of cooling down.
