Jagan Alleges Naidu Misusing Power, Targets Governance Failures

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has launched a sharp attack on the incumbent Chandrababu Naidu-led coalition government in Andhra Pradesh. Speaking to the media, Mr. Reddy accused the administration of failing on multiple fronts, including agriculture, education, and healthcare, while simultaneously using government institutions to pursue what he termed “vindictive politics” against the opposition.
The YSRCP chief alleged that the government is actively working to close old corruption cases against the Chief Minister and his associates by exerting pressure on officials to retract their statements. This, he claimed, highlights a gross misuse of institutional power and a deliberate attempt to clear the slate through unethical means. He vowed to challenge these actions and expose the truth, saying his party would take the battle to the courts and to the people.
A major focus of the criticism was the distress faced by the farming community.Mr. Reddy stated that farmers are being cheated at every stage, from not receiving the guaranteed Minimum Support Price (MSP) for their crops to being denied crucial input subsidies and crop insurance. He contrasted this with the previous government’s efforts through Rythu Bharosa Kendras, arguing that the current coalition has abandoned the agricultural sector, leading to widespread loss and frustration among the state’s growers.
Turning to the social sectors, the former Chief Minister painted a grim picture of education and healthcare. He raised concerns over the quality of services, pointing to mounting fee reimbursement dues for students, which has added to their distress. In the health sector, he claimed that the flagship Aarogyasri scheme has been severely crippled due to pending payments to hospitals, effectively denying quality care to the poor. Furthermore, he highlighted a massive public backlash against the government’s move towards privatizing medical colleges, a decision which he alleged puts public health in private hands. The YSRCP has collected one crore signatures against this move, which they plan to submit to the Governor.
Mr. Reddy also spoke about what he called the “Red Book constitution,” referring to an alleged list of political adversaries targeted by the ruling party. He cited several controversies, including the TTD laddu quality allegations and the Parakamani theft cases, claiming these were fabricated narratives designed to falsely implicate YSRCP leaders. He insisted that the new administration is prioritizing political vendetta over governance, leading to a breakdown of law and order and an atmosphere of fear for political opponents.
The former Chief Minister also mentioned the plight of government employees, accusing the ruling party of failing to deliver on its election promises regarding pending employee dues. He specifically noted the non-payment of multiple Dearness Allowances (DAs), along with failures concerning the Pay Revision Commission (PRC) and medical reimbursement, suggesting that employees are being systematically cheated. He concluded by asserting that the current coalition has done little to advance the state, focusing instead on dismantling the welfare reforms and administrative structures put in place during his party’s tenure. He promised a continuous public and legal fight to bring the government’s failures to light.
