YSRCP Demands Central Action in Parliament

The political heat in Andhra Pradesh reached New Delhi this Tuesday as YSRCP leaders took their grievances to Parliament. During the ongoing budget session, the party raised serious concerns over the current state of affairs in Andhra Pradesh. They officially requested the Union Government to intervene immediately to restore normalcy.
MP Golla Babu Rao led the charge in the Rajya Sabha, describing the local situation as “deteriorating.” He pointed to recent incidents of arson and targeted attacks on political opponents. The party alleged that private properties and homes of former ministers are being vandalized. They urged the Prime Minister and Home Minister to take notice of these events.
Beyond law and order, the YSRCP also pushed for better funding for the Polavaram project. They termed the current allocation of ₹3,320 crore as insufficient for such a massive lifeline. The party demanded that the project’s height be maintained at 45 meters. They also voiced strong opposition to the privatization of government medical colleges in the state.
Public sentiment was highlighted through a massive signature campaign against the sale of these institutions. The party claimed that 17 medical colleges, originally planned for public welfare, are now being handed to private players. Meanwhile, a separate delegation also met with the National Human Rights Commission. They submitted evidence of recent violence and requested a field visit by a fact-finding team.
