Vijayawada Battles Diarrhea Surge

Vijayawada, September 18, 2025 — A sudden outbreak of diarrhea has gripped New Rajarajeswaripeta, alarming residents and prompting swift action from health authorities. Over 350 cases have been reported in the past few days, with 15 new patients hospitalized overnight. The situation has led to the temporary closure of shops within a 2-kilometer radius and the deployment of emergency sanitation measures.

Local Response Intensifies
Medical teams are working round the clock to contain the spread. Clean drinking water is being supplied to affected households, and sanitation kits are being distributed door-to-door. Health workers are conducting surveys and offering on-site treatment to those showing symptoms.

Groundwater Under Scrutiny
