The 22-year-old left-hander, who hails from Badruka College area, was praised for his calm temperament and aggressive strokeplay. His unbeaten 69 in the final turned the tide for India, earning him accolades from fans, former cricketers, and political leaders alike.
Revanth Reddy presented Tilak with a ₹10 lakh cash reward and a commemorative plaque, calling him “Telangana’s pride and India’s future.” The CM also announced plans to upgrade cricket training facilities in Hyderabad and Warangal to nurture more talent like Tilak.
Tilak’s parents and coach Salam Bayash were present at the event, visibly emotional as the young cricketer stood on stage. “This is not just my win—it’s for every boy who dreams with a bat in hand,” Tilak said, addressing the crowd.
The felicitation comes days after Tilak’s Asia Cup campaign, where he scored 213 runs in six matches, averaging 71.00. His consistency and maturity at the crease have made him a strong contender for India’s T20 World Cup squad.

The Hyderabad Cricket Association also announced a special mentorship program in Tilak’s name, aimed at identifying and training underprivileged cricketing talent across Telangana.
In a symbolic gesture, Tilak planted a sapling at the venue, promoting green initiatives and youth responsibility. “Discipline off the field is as important as performance on it,” he said.
The event concluded with cultural performances and a short documentary on Tilak’s journey, from his early days in the Old City to his debut in the IPL and now, his Asia Cup triumph.
