Revanth Reddy’s Kodangal Vow

In his recent address at Kosgi, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy issued a powerful political challenge that has reshaped the state’s narrative. Speaking at a felicitation ceremony for newly elected sarpanches in his home constituency of Kodangal, the Chief Minister took a firm oath regarding the future of Telangana’s leadership.
The Chief Minister declared that as long as he remains active in public life, he will ensure that Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) supremo K. Chandrasekhar Rao and his family do not return to power. He described the political chapter of the BRS as effectively over, positioning the Congress party as the long-term stewards of the state’s progress.
During the event, Reddy projected a dominant future for the Congress party, predicting a sweep of 87 seats out of 119 in the 2029 Assembly elections. He further noted that if a delimitation process increases the Assembly strength to 150 or more seats, the Congress is poised to secure over 100 of them, cementing its mandate.
Addressing recent criticisms from the opposition, the Chief Minister challenged KCR and other BRS leaders to a direct debate within the Legislative Assembly rather than making statements from their farmhouses. He emphasized that the government is ready to discuss critical issues, including the Kaleshwaram project and river water sharing, during the upcoming session on December 29.
Beyond the political rhetoric, the Chief Minister focused on grassroots governance by announcing special development funds. Major gram panchayats will receive ₹10 lakh, while smaller villages are slated for ₹5 lakh in additional aid. He urged the new village heads to move past election-day rivalries and work toward making Kodangal a national model for rural development and inclusive growth.
