PM Modi Appeals to Youth for Bihar’s Future

As Bihar entered the first phase of its 2025 Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a passionate appeal to the youth and first-time voters. He emphasized their role in building a progressive and developed Bihar, calling it a “festival of democracy.”
In a message posted on social media, PM Modi congratulated young voters casting their ballot for the first time. He encouraged them to vote with full enthusiasm, using the phrase, “Pehle matdaan, phir jalpaan” (First voting, then refreshments), to energize participation.
Modi outlined his vision for a “Viksit Bihar,” promising focused efforts on women’s empowerment, youth employment, and regional development. He contrasted this with what he described as the opposition’s history of misrule and internal conflicts.
The Prime Minister highlighted the NDA’s commitment to infrastructure, education, and flood management in regions like Seemanchal. He urged voters to support a government that prioritizes long-term progress over short-term politics.
With over 3.75 crore voters participating in this phase, a significant portion are under 30. Modi’s message was tailored to this demographic, positioning them as the architects of Bihar’s future.
Voting took place across 121 constituencies in 18 districts, with tight security arrangements. Early reports indicated a strong turnout, especially among young voters and women.
The elections are being closely watched as a test of strength between the NDA and the Mahagathbandhan alliance. Opposition leaders have criticized the NDA’s campaign as rhetoric-heavy, while the BJP maintains that its track record speaks for itself.
With the second phase of polling scheduled for November 11 and counting on November 14, the political landscape in Bihar is heating up. Modi’s youth-focused message is expected to be a central theme in the coming days.
