People’s Deputy CM Connects with Public, Launches Projects

Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and Jana Sena chief, K. Pawan Kalyan, reinforced his dedication to direct public engagement and infrastructure development by undertaking an extensive tour of the Eluru district. His visit on Monday saw him interacting directly with local communities, launching projects, and reviewing the progress of previously promised works, marking a continued commitment to grassroots governance.
The tour began with a focus on spiritual heritage, where the Deputy Chief Minister visited the revered Sri Kanakavalli Sameta Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy temple at I.S. Jagannathapuram. He participated in special prayers, receiving a traditional temple welcome, and later unveiled the ‘Sthala Puranam,’ a book detailing the history and origin of the ancient shrine. This part of the visit underscored his emphasis on preserving the cultural and religious fabric of the state.
A significant highlight of the day was the launch of multiple development works for the temple, collectively valued at ₹8.7 crore. These projects include the construction of a Pradakshina Mandapam (circumambulation hall) within the temple grounds and the development of a new approach road leading from the village to the hill temple. The Deputy CM confirmed that the funds were specially sanctioned by the government following his request, demonstrating the ruling coalition’s focus on temple infrastructure.
Beyond the temple, Mr. Pawan Kalyan shifted his attention to critical rural infrastructure. He inspected the Ponguturu–Lakkavaram road, a 6.5-kilometre stretch that was recently repaired at a cost of ₹1.5 crore. This repair work was initiated after the Minister received direct complaints from the public regarding the poor condition of the road during an earlier visit.Expressing satisfaction with the high-quality completion of the work, he emphasized that government projects must be responsive to citizen needs.
The Minister also took the time to review an innovative solution to village sanitation: the newly constructed ‘Magic Drain’ at I.S. Jagannathapuram. This cost-effective and quickly built drainage system, implemented under the Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Department, is designed to manage wastewater efficiently in rural areas. His hands-on inspection and interaction with officials highlighted the government’s efforts to adopt simple, practical solutions for improving living standards in villages.
Throughout his journey, from Rajavaram to Yerrampeta and Jagannathapuram, the Deputy Chief Minister was greeted by a large crowd of enthusiastic fans, party members, and local villagers. The spontaneous and warm reception, which included people showering him with flowers and traditional ‘haratis,’ reaffirmed his deep connection with the populace. He paused multiple times to interact with villagers, accept petitions detailing their local issues, and even exchange greetings with farm workers busy in their fields, truly embodying the concept of a leader on the ground.
The Eluru tour serves as a clear indication that the Deputy Chief Minister is balancing his administrative duties—overseeing key portfolios like Panchayat Raj and Environment—with an active, on-the-ground political schedule. His upcoming itinerary includes a tour of Konaseema district on November 26th to personally inspect the damage to coconut groves caused by high salinity, further proving his resolve to address specific, pressing issues affecting the livelihoods of farmers. This approach signals a move towards an accountable governance style that prioritizes physical assessment and immediate action over bureaucratic delays.
