Andhra Pradesh IT Minister Nara Lokesh has expressed serious concern over recent legal hurdles facing major tech projects in Visakhapatnam. He criticized the filing of multiple Public Interest Litigations (PILs) against upcoming IT parks. These projects involve global giants like TCS, Cognizant, and the Raheja Group.

The Minister noted that these developments are crucial for the state’s economic future.Together, these IT hubs are expected to create over one lakh jobs for the local youth.Lokesh questioned the motive behind these legal challenges, suggesting they are meant to stall the state’s progress. He stated that frequent legal interference sends a poor signal to international investors.

The government is moving forward with its LIFT Policy 4.0, which offers land at nominal rates to attract big tech firms. Lokesh emphasized that the state needs a stable environment to build a strong innovation hub in North Andhra. He promised that the administration would legally defend these projects to ensure they stay on track.

While the legal battles continue, the government remains committed to its development goals. Officials believe that Visakhapatnam has the potential to become a global technology center. The aim is to shift from traditional industries to high-value IT and electronics manufacturing.

Mr. Lokesh reiterated that the government’s priority is “jobs, skills, and growth.” He urged all parties to support development instead of creating roadblocks. The administration plans to work closely with the central government to speed up infrastructure work. This includes better road and digital connectivity for the new IT corridors.
