INDIA Bloc to Announce CM Face in Bihar

The opposition alliance known as the INDIA Bloc has officially named Tejashwi Yadav as its chief ministerial candidate for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections. The announcement was made during a press conference in Patna, bringing clarity after weeks of speculation.

Senior Congress leader Ashok Gehlot confirmed the decision, stating that it was reached with full consensus among alliance partners. He praised Tejashwi’s political journey and expressed confidence in his ability to lead Bihar into a new era.

Alongside Tejashwi, Mukesh Sahani of the Vikassheel Insaan Party was declared the deputy chief ministerial candidate. A second deputy CM face, representing backward classes, is expected to be announced soon.

The INDIA Bloc, which includes RJD, Congress, CPI, CPI(M), CPI(ML), and VIP, has faced internal discussions over seat-sharing. However, the announcement signals unity and a shared goal to challenge the ruling NDA in Bihar.

Tejashwi Yadav, former deputy CM and son of RJD founder Lalu Prasad Yadav, has emerged as a key figure in Bihar politics. His leadership during past elections and youth appeal have made him a strong contender.

Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge have endorsed Tejashwi’s candidacy. The party aims to strengthen its presence in Bihar through this alliance and coordinated campaign efforts.

The Bihar Assembly elections are scheduled for November 2025. The INDIA Bloc plans to launch joint rallies, social media campaigns, and grassroots outreach to connect with voters across the state.

Initial reactions from voters and political analysts suggest that Tejashwi’s nomination could energize the youth and backward communities. His focus on employment and education is expected to be central to the campaign.

The ruling NDA, led by BJP and JD(U), has not yet announced its CM candidate. Political observers expect a strategic response in the coming days as the election battle intensifies.

With Tejashwi Yadav leading the charge, the INDIA Bloc is positioning itself as a strong alternative. The coming weeks will reveal whether this move reshapes the political landscape of Bihar.
