Dy CM Pawan Kalyan Alleges Targeting of Hindus

Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has made a strong public assertion, claiming that the Hindu community is being systematically targeted and its ancient traditions are facing constant scrutiny. The Jana Sena chief stated that defending Hindu practices against such attacks is the responsibility of every believer of the faith.

The Deputy Chief Minister’s comments come amidst a national conversation surrounding religious and cultural rights. He pointed to recent incidents, including a contentious temple row in a neighbouring state, as evidence that certain elements are actively challenging Hindu customs. He noted that while Hindus have historically engaged in legal battles, such as the one concerning the Sabarimala temple verdict, they have maintained respect for the judiciary. However, he expressed concern over attempts to use political maneuvers, such as seeking the impeachment of a judge who delivered a judgment favourable to Hindu religious rights, calling this a display of “pseudo-secularism.”

Pawan Kalyan emphasized that the Indian Constitution guarantees equal rights to all religions and insisted that the laws protecting the interests of other faiths must apply equally to the Hindu community. He specifically criticized certain political parties for allegedly interfering in temple affairs in other states and for using what he termed as “opportunistic” politics to create a religious imbalance.

A key part of his statement was the observation on the perceived strength of the community. The Deputy CM argued that the idea of a cohesive “Hindu majority” in the country is misleading, as the community is often divided along lines of caste, language, and region. He stressed that these internal divisions contribute to the perceived vulnerability and allow Hindu practices to be taken for granted.

To address this perceived threat and ensure the institutional protection of ancient traditions, the Deputy Chief Minister reiterated his demand for the establishment of a Sanatana Dharma Rakshana Board. He explained that this body is necessary to allow devotees to actively manage their temples and religious affairs without the constant fear of political interference or judicial overreach. He called upon all followers of Sanatana Dharma to unite and actively oppose any attempts to mock or undermine their faith. The message underlined the need for a collective and robust voice to protect Hindu religious freedom and traditions across the nation.
