Chandrababu Naidu Orders State Alert Over West Asia Conflict

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu held a high-level review meeting today to assess the impact of the escalating West Asia conflict on Andhra Pradesh. With thousands of non-resident Telugus working in the Gulf region, the CM directed officials to establish a dedicated help desk for families seeking information. He emphasized that the state must be prepared for potential economic shifts, particularly regarding fuel prices and trade logistics at Visakhapatnam and Krishnapatnam ports.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister also shifted focus to domestic governance, ordering immediate improvements in the quality of mid-day meals across state schools. Naidu stressed that while global issues are a concern, grassroots welfare cannot be neglected. He instructed the Real-Time Governance Society (RTGS) to monitor school facilities and classroom cleanliness daily to ensure a better environment for students.

On the political front, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan announced a significant change to the Jana Sena Party’s upcoming 13th Formation Day celebrations scheduled for March 14. Due to a predicted severe heatwave, the massive state-level public meeting in Pithapuram has been cancelled. Instead, Kalyan has called on party workers to celebrate locally at the village and mandal levels through service-oriented programs and blood donation camps.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP has intensified its attack on the ruling coalition, demanding a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the “Parakamani” theft case. Former minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy alleged that the government is shielding high-ranking individuals and using minor employees as scapegoats. Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also criticized the government’s financial management, citing recent CAG reports as evidence of “unprecedented financial indiscipline.”

The day also saw a sharp exchange between IT Minister Nara Lokesh and the opposition regarding a PIL filed against Google’s data center in Visakhapatnam. Lokesh accused the YSRCP of being “anti-development” and trying to stall a project that could transform the state into a technology hub. He asserted that no amount of legal hurdles would stop the government from bringing top-tier global companies to Andhra Pradesh.
