Allu Kanakaratnam Passes Away at 94

Hyderabad, August 30 — The Telugu film fraternity mourns the loss of Smt. Allu Kanakaratnam, a revered matriarch of the Allu family, who passed away in the early hours of Saturday due to age-related ailments. She was 94.

Born into a culturally rich lineage, Kanakaratnam was the wife of legendary actor and Padma Shri awardee Allu Ramalingaiah. Her life spanned nearly a century, during which she witnessed and supported the rise of Telugu cinema from its early days to its current global stature.

Her passing marks the end of an era for the Allu family, known for its deep roots in the film industry.
