BRS Leader Harish Rao’s Allegations Against Revanth Government

Former Minister and senior BRS leader T. Harish Rao has launched a scathing critique of the current Telangana government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, alleging widespread governance failures and a breakdown of law and order. Speaking at a press event, the BRS legislator claimed that Hyderabad, which was once celebrated as a hub for investment, has tragically deteriorated into an “insecurity hub” under the present administration. The allegations, made just as a crucial by-poll was taking place, focused on the lack of development and the abandonment of various welfare initiatives.
Mr. Rao claimed that since the Congress assumed power, the state has witnessed stagnation, with nearly a dozen key development projects, valued at over ₹13,000 crore, having been summarily stalled. He painted a picture of administrative paralysis where welfare schemes, critical for the poor, are not being implemented and important sectors like education and municipal administration are suffering from neglect. The leader stressed that the chief minister has proven to be a “total failure” in every portfolio.
The BRS leader also focused on the financial strain being placed on public institutions. He specifically cited the state of the Arogyasri health scheme, claiming that hospitals are facing immense pressure as pending dues amounting to a significant ₹1,900 crore have not been cleared. Furthermore, he alleged that educational institutions are also being ignored, with the government failing to release pending funds for student fee reimbursement. He accused the ruling party of resorting to threats and intimidation, using police and vigilance raids against hospitals and colleges when they demand their legitimate payments.
In a strong political statement, Mr. Rao accused the Chief Minister of using fear tactics to influence voters during the recent by-election.He alleged that the Congress leaders were threatening citizens, implying that their ration cards and other essential government benefits would be cancelled if they did not vote for the ruling party. Such conduct, the BRS leader asserted, is a clear sign of a “chaotic and anarchic” government that lacks a development record and is desperate to cling to power.
Challenging the ruling party’s development claims, Mr. Rao questioned the Chief Minister’s claims on attracting massive investments, suggesting that official data shows a much lower figure. He concluded that the outcome of the recent by-election would serve as a crucial message from the people of Telangana, asserting that no section of society, except for the Chief Minister’s close circle, is content under the current rule. He appealed to the public to compare the previous decade of progress with the present two years of alleged destruction and vote for stability and real development.
