BRS Chief Slams Government Over Village Tragedy

BRS Working President K.T. Rama Rao visited Kummera village in Nagarkurnool district on Wednesday to offer his condolences to a grieving family. The visit follows a tragic incident during the local Mallanna Swamy Jatara, where a two-month-old infant lost her life following a violent clash. Mr. Rao described the event as a heartbreaking tragedy that has shaken the conscience of the entire state.

During his interaction with the family, the former minister expressed deep anger over the nature of the attack. He alleged that a group of individuals targeted the family while they were visiting the temple for prayers. According to local reports, the confrontation escalated into a physical assault. Mr. Rao emphasized that such violence in the name of social identity is unacceptable in modern society.

The BRS leader took a sharp aim at the state government and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for their perceived silence on the matter. He questioned why senior officials and local representatives had not yet visited the victims. Mr. Rao demanded that the investigation remain transparent and free from any political interference, alleging that attempts were being made to shield the culprits.

Demanding immediate justice, the BRS chief insisted that murder charges be filed against all eight primary accused. He stated that the perpetrators must face the strictest possible legal punishment to prevent such incidents in the future. He also called for the immediate arrest of everyone involved in the mob attack to restore public confidence in the law.

On the financial front, Mr. Rao announced immediate support for the bereaved family. He provided one lakh rupees in instant aid and pledged ten lakh rupees for the construction of a permanent house. Furthermore, he formally demanded that the state government provide one crore rupees as compensation and a government job for a family member to ensure their long-term security.

The visit has sparked a heated political debate in Telangana, with opposition parties accusing the ruling administration of failing to maintain law and order. As the police continue their probe, the Kummera incident remains a focal point of public concern, with citizens demanding swift judicial action and better safety measures during local festivals.
