BJP Condemns Arrest of State Chief Eatala Rajender

A fresh political storm has erupted in Telangana following the arrest of BJP MP and state unit president Eatala Rajender. The incident occurred during a protest organized by the BJP at the DGP office in Hyderabad, demanding swift action against the assailants involved in the recent attack on cow protector Prashanth Singh, also known as Sonu Singh.

The BJP claimed the protest was Gandhian in nature, involving over 100 party workers and leaders from various wings including Yuva Morcha and Gau Seva Samithi. The group had gathered to submit a memorandum to the Director General of Police. However, police detained Eatala and others, citing preventive measures.

The BJP condemned the arrests, calling them unconstitutional and politically motivated. Leaders accused the Congress-led state government of suppressing democratic expression and using police force to silence dissent. The party vowed to escalate its campaign and take the issue to national forums.

The arrest has triggered widespread debate across social media platforms. Hashtags like #JusticeForEatala and #TelanganaProtest are trending. Supporters argue that the government is targeting opposition voices, while critics question the timing and intent behind the protest.

Congress leaders defended the police action, stating that public order must be maintained. They accused the BJP of politicizing a sensitive issue and attempting to destabilize governance through provocative demonstrations.

The protest was sparked by a shootout in Pocharam, where gau rakshak Sonu Singh was injured. BJP leaders allege that the assailant, a cattle trader, acted with impunity due to lax enforcement. The party demanded immediate arrest and investigation.

Eatala Rajender, a former minister and influential leader, has been vocal on issues of governance and public welfare. His arrest has reignited discussions about his future role in Telangana politics and the BJP’s internal dynamics.

BJP plans statewide protests and legal action

Demand for judicial inquiry into police conduct

This episode highlights growing tensions between the ruling Congress and opposition BJP in Telangana. It also raises questions about the balance between protest rights and public order, especially in politically charged environments.
