Bandi Sanjay Demands Apology Over ‘Bombing’ Remark

Political tensions flared in Telangana as BJP leader Bandi Sanjay slammed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for his controversial “carpet bombing” remark made during a campaign rally in Jubilee Hills. The comment has triggered a war of words between the two major parties ahead of the upcoming by-elections.
During a public address supporting Congress candidate Naveen Yadav, CM Revanth Reddy criticized BJP’s aggressive campaign style, likening it to “carpet bombing.” He questioned why such intensity wasn’t shown during India’s conflict with Pakistan, drawing sharp reactions from BJP leaders.
Union Minister Bandi Sanjay condemned the CM’s statement, calling it disrespectful and inflammatory. He demanded an unconditional apology, stating that such language insults India’s armed forces and misleads voters. His remarks were echoed by other BJP leaders, intensifying the political clash.
Revanth Reddy’s reference to Operation Sindoor, where he claimed the BJP lacked courage to retaliate against Pakistan, further angered the opposition. BJP leaders accused the CM of aligning his narrative with anti-national sentiments and undermining national security efforts.
Congress spokespersons defended Revanth Reddy, stating that his comments were aimed at exposing BJP’s double standards. They argued that the metaphor was used to highlight the aggressive campaigning tactics in Jubilee Hills, not to insult the armed forces.
Adding to the controversy, BRS leaders also criticized the CM’s remarks, accusing Congress of politicizing national security. They called for responsible campaigning and urged all parties to maintain decorum during public speeches.
The public response has been divided. While some citizens supported the CM’s bold stance, others felt the metaphor was inappropriate and could have been avoided. Social media platforms have been flooded with debates, memes, and hashtags related to the incident.Following the uproar, BJP leaders have approached the Election Commission, requesting action against Revanth Reddy for violating the model code of conduct. The Commission is expected to review the speech and issue a statement soon.
The Jubilee Hills constituency has now become a focal point of the Telangana by-elections. With high-profile leaders campaigning and controversies erupting, voter sentiment remains unpredictable.
Political analysts have urged leaders to focus on developmental issues rather than personal attacks. They emphasized the need for respectful discourse, especially when addressing sensitive topics like national security.
