Anoos Sisters Build India’s Beauty Empire

The journey of the Anoos Sisters is a remarkable story of vision, courage, and determination. Four sisters from Hyderabad — Anuradha, Annapurna, Anupama, and Aniruddha — began their dream in 1982 inside a small garage at Tilak Nagar. What started as a modest beauty parlour soon transformed into one of South India’s most trusted names in beauty and wellness.
In the early years, the sisters faced challenges that were common for women entrepreneurs in the 1980s. Beauty services were not widely accepted outside show business or hospitality. Yet, with strong self-belief and family support, they built a foundation that would later redefine the industry.
By 1986, they had already expanded into training, opening a beauty institute in Hyderabad. This step empowered many young women to learn professional skills and enter the workforce. Their vision was not only about business but also about creating opportunities for others.
In 1989, they introduced advanced unwanted hair removal technology from the United States, a pioneering move in India at that time. This innovation set Anoos apart from competitors and established their reputation for bringing global standards to local markets.
The sisters continued to innovate. In 1992, Anoos became a private limited company and introduced weight management programs using German technology. Anti-aging facelifts and advanced clinical services soon followed, making their brand a one-stop destination for beauty and wellness.
By the mid-1990s, Anoos combined salon and clinical services under one roof. This holistic approach was new to India and attracted a growing clientele. In 1999, they imported the first laser machinery for hair removal and launched herbal products, blending science with tradition.
Their ambition was not limited to India. In 2000, Anoos opened a Herbal Day Spa in Miami, USA, marking their entry into international markets. This bold step showed their confidence in competing globally.
The Silver Jubilee year in 2006 was another milestone. Anoos launched the International Beauty School, offering courses for men, women, and families. In 2007, they collaborated with JNTU to introduce India’s first postgraduate course in cosmetology, along with the prestigious CIDESCO certification.
Over the years, Anoos expanded to 27 locations across 15 cities in three states, employing hundreds of professionals. They became the largest fully women-owned company in South India, a rare achievement in the beauty industry.
Their services grew to include advanced skin treatments, hair restoration, weight loss programs, and makeovers. Technologies like CoolSculpting, Zerona Laser, and Cavitations were introduced, keeping Anoos ahead of trends.
Beyond business, the sisters focused on empowerment. Anoos trained women from underprivileged backgrounds, offering them employment and dignity. They partnered with NGOs and government skill centres, ensuring that opportunities reached those who needed them most.
Awards and recognition followed. From ISO certification to business excellence awards, Anoos earned respect across the industry. Anuradha Chepyala was invited to join the Beauty & Wellness Sector Skill Council Governing Body, contributing to the national Skill India mission.
Today, Anoos stands as a symbol of women’s entrepreneurship, innovation, and resilience. From a garage in Hyderabad to international recognition, the sisters proved that dreams backed by hard work can change industries and inspire generations.
Their legacy continues to grow, reminding us that success is not just about profits but about creating impact, empowering communities, and setting standards for excellence.
