Akhilesh Yadav Mounts a Fierce Attack on the BJP
Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav addressed a major press conference in Lucknow today, launching a blistering attack on the ruling administration. The opposition leader did not mince words while criticizing governance models and administrative policies currently operational in the state. He claimed that public welfare has taken a back seat due to continuous administrative failures and misplaced priorities. Reinterpreting the ruling party’s acronym, he stated that the letters now represent core governance flaws. According to his statement, the acronym stands for corrupt elements, severe oppression, and sinful actions. He asserted that all individuals associated with systemic corruption and injustice find shelter within the ruling organization. The former chief minister emphasized that the state’s current problems would only find a permanent solution once the ruling party is voted out. Focusing heavily on infrastructural development, Yadav pointed out massive irregularities in major highway projects built over recent years.
He specifically named expressways connecting Lucknow to Kanpur, alongside the Bundelkhand and Purvanchal corridors, as prime victims of widespread corruption. Furthermore, he accused influential land mafias linked to political heavyweights of illegally encroaching upon crucial water bodies and ponds across various districts. Transitioning to the education sector, the opposition leader brought forward startling figures regarding institutional closures in the state. He alleged that more than 26,000 government primary schools have been permanently shut down since the current administration assumed power. This systematic closure, he argued, is a deliberate move to deprive children belonging to backward, Dalit, and minority communities of basic education. He presented district-wise data highlighting that hundreds of schools faced closure even in prominent political strongholds and home districts. Enrollment figures, according to his presentation, have sharply declined over the years, impacting millions of young students.
He also raised serious concerns over the drastic reduction in teaching staff and thousands of vacant government positions. By avoiding regular recruitments, the administration is deliberately bypassing reservation policies and denying permanent livelihoods to youth, he claimed. The discussion then shifted toward recent controversies involving religious institutions and political satire within legislative complexes. Yadav questioned the legal action initiated against opposition members over a satirical performance staged within parliamentary premises. He contrasted this with past events where religious figures were allegedly depicted in a disrespectful manner during ruling party events without facing similar legal repercussions. The opposition leader cautioned government officials and bureaucrats against executing unfair orders issued under political pressure. He reminded them that political patrons rarely step forward to protect administrative officers when legal accountability eventually catches up. In a final remark, he also criticized the growing trend of involving top constitutional figures in casual social media content production. The Samajwadi Party confirmed that these pressing issues of education, unemployment, and corruption will be forcefully raised during the upcoming assembly session.
