₹13,430 Crore Projects Unveiled Across AP

Andhra Pradesh witnessed a landmark moment on October 16, 2025, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched and laid the foundation for development projects worth ₹13,430 crore across the state. The initiatives span critical sectors including infrastructure, energy, defence, and connectivity, with a strong focus on Rayalaseema’s upliftment.

The Prime Minister began his visit with a spiritual offering at the Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Varla Devasthanam in Srisailam, one of India’s most revered Jyotirlinga-Shakti Peeth temples. This symbolic gesture set the tone for a day of both cultural reverence and developmental resolve. From Srisailam, PM Modi proceeded to Kurnool, where he addressed a massive public gathering and formally inaugurated multiple projects. The region, often seen as underdeveloped, is now poised to become a hub for industrial and energy growth.

A major transmission system strengthening project at Kurnool-III Pooling Station was launched with an investment of over ₹2,880 crore. This aims to stabilize power supply and support renewable energy integration.

New defence production units are being set up to boost indigenous manufacturing and create skilled jobs in the region.

New railway lines and road upgrades are planned to enhance connectivity between Rayalaseema and coastal Andhra, reducing travel time and improving logistics.

Infrastructure for gas pipelines and storage is being expanded to support industrial corridors and domestic supply.

The event also marked a rare moment of political synergy. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan joined PM Modi on stage, signaling a united front for development. Their presence underscored the importance of collaborative governance in executing large-scale projects.

Generate thousands of direct and indirect jobs

Attract private investment in industrial corridors

Improve access to essential services in rural belts

Strengthen Andhra Pradesh’s role in national defence and energy securityLocals

Kurnool and Srisailam welcomed the announcements with enthusiasm. Many see this as a long-overdue recognition of Rayalaseema’s potential and a step toward balanced regional development.

The blend of spiritual homage and economic vision resonated with the public. By beginning the day at a sacred site and ending with a roadmap for progress, the visit bridged tradition and transformation.

This ₹13,430 crore push is not just about numbers—it’s about narrative. It repositions Andhra Pradesh as a strategic player in India’s growth story, especially in sectors like defence and energy. The focus on Rayalaseema could also recalibrate regional equity within the state.
