Telangana Unveils Landmark State Education Policy

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy today announced the rollout of a comprehensive Telangana Education Policy designed to transform the state’s learning landscape. Developed on the lines of the National Education Policy (NEP), this initiative aims to bridge the gap between rural and urban schooling standards through radical infrastructure and transport reforms.

During a meeting at the Secretariat with the Himachal Pradesh Education Minister, Reddy highlighted the “Young India Integrated Residential Schools” as the cornerstone of this vision. These institutions, built on 25-acre campuses at a cost of ₹200 crore each, will function as mini-universities. They are designed to bring students from SC, ST, BC, and minority communities under one roof, fostering social harmony while providing international-standard education.

A major highlight for rural areas is the introduction of free transportation for pre-primary students. The government plans to strengthen the public school system to compete directly with private institutions by offering corporate-level amenities and high-quality curricula. This move is expected to significantly reduce travel barriers for young children in remote villages and improve overall enrollment rates.

Additionally, the state is upgrading existing Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into Advanced Technology Centers (ATCs). These centers will focus on industry-relevant skills like Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity, ensuring that the youth are future-ready. The Chief Minister emphasized that these reforms are not just about buildings, but about creating an inclusive ecosystem that provides equal opportunities for every child in Telangana.
