CM Naidu Sets New Targets at District Collectors Meet

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu chaired the sixth District Collectors’ Conference in Amaravati today, marking a significant milestone in the state’s governance roadmap. During the session, the CM proposed the establishment of an “Indian School of Agriculture” (ISA) in Andhra Pradesh, modeled after the Indian School of Business (ISB). This institution aims to integrate AI-based technology and research into the farming sector to improve yields and sustainability for local farmers.

The Chief Minister also focused on immediate welfare delivery, announcing that the third installment of the “Annadata Sukhibhava” scheme would be released on March 13. Furthermore, he directed officials to launch a 90-day water conservation drive starting April 1. Under the new “Indra Dhanassu” initiative, Naidu also announced free RTC bus travel for differently-abled persons, signaling a push toward more inclusive public transport across the state.

On the opposition front, YSRCP President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy held a sharp press conference at Tadepalli, accusing the ruling coalition of “unprecedented financial indiscipline.” Citing recent CAG reports, Jagan alleged that the TDP-led government has borrowed ₹3.2 lakh crore in just two years, nearly equaling the total debt taken during his entire five-year tenure. He questioned the transparency of these funds, claiming that the promised “Super Six” welfare schemes remain largely unimplemented.

The political temperature rose further in Visakhapatnam as HRD Minister Nara Lokesh slammed the YSRCP for allegedly stalling development. Lokesh reacted strongly to a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) filed in the High Court challenging the land allotment for Google’s AI Hub in Vizag. He accused Jagan of being “anti-youth” and warned that legal hurdles created by the opposition would not stop the state from becoming a global technology destination.

Finally, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s political and cinematic spheres converged as his upcoming film, Ustaad Bhagat Singh, cleared censors with a U/A certificate today. While Kalyan continues to manage state affairs amidst the regional heatwave alerts, his supporters celebrated the film’s confirmed release for March 19. The government, meanwhile, remains on high alert regarding the economic impact of the West Asia conflict, with Naidu instructing the RTGS to monitor essential commodity prices and the safety of Telugu people living in the Gulf.
