Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan Sweeps National Awards

Andhra Pradesh has achieved a major milestone in rural development. The State Panchayat Raj Department has won five prestigious national awards. These honors were part of the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar for 2026. Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan expressed great joy over this achievement. This is the second year in a row that the state has been recognized at the national level.

The awards highlight the state’s focus on grassroots governance and village growth. Specifically, Bokkasampalem in Tirupati district was named the best Women-Friendly Panchayat in India. This recognition shows the impact of local leadership and women’s empowerment. Another top honor went to Shringavaram in Visakhapatnam for excellence in Good Governance. These achievements reflect a commitment to making villages self-sufficient and modern.

The Panchayat Raj Department has introduced several key initiatives recently. Programs like “Palle Panduga” have focused on improving village roads and water supply. The Deputy CM credited the hard work of local officials and the support of the people. He noted that these awards increase the responsibility of the government to do more. The goal is to transform every village into a model of sustainable development.

Other notable winners include Gundamala in Prakasam district for infrastructure. The Kuppam Mandal also secured a third-place ranking at the national level. This widespread success shows that development is reaching various parts of the state. The government plans to use this momentum to further strengthen local bodies. By empowering panchayats, the state aims to drive overall economic growth from the ground up.
