CM Revanth Reddy’s Power Meetings in Delhi

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy conducted a series of high-stakes meetings in New Delhi today, aggressively pitching for central support for the state’s infrastructure. Following what many in the state capital called a “budget snub,” the CM met with several Union Ministers to secure clearances and funding for long-pending projects.

During his meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, the Chief Minister invited him to the foundation ceremony of the Gandhi Sarovar Project at Bapu Ghat. Revanth Reddy requested the transfer of 100 acres of Defence land to facilitate the Musi River rejuvenation initiative. He highlighted the historical significance of the site, where Mahatma Gandhi’s ashes were immersed in 1948.

The Chief Minister also met with Civil Aviation Minister K. Rammohan Naidu to discuss the Mamnoor Airport near Warangal. With land acquisition already complete, Reddy urged the Centre to begin construction immediately. He further requested feasibility studies for proposed airports in Kothagudem and Adilabad to improve regional connectivity.

In a key discussion with Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, the CM offered 500 acres of land near Shamshabad for three high-speed rail corridors linking Hyderabad to Chennai, Bengaluru, and Pune. He emphasized that making Shamshabad a rail tri-junction would boost the economy. The Minister reportedly responded positively to the request for central funding for the Krishna-Vikarabad line.

These meetings come at a crucial time as Telangana prepares for the municipal election results tomorrow. By securing central cooperation on these “wishlist” projects, the state government aims to demonstrate its commitment to rapid urban development and infrastructure growth despite political friction with the Centre.
